There are always great relief campaigns with which we support VETO.

We are currently supporting VETO in the campaign:

Millions of dogs and cats live on the streets in Europe. VETO fights together with animal welfare associations, partners and animal rights activists for homeless animals and is calling for a feed donation campaign from July 28, 2022 to September 8, 2022 “Strong for street animals” on.

In Europe it is estimated that there are several million dogs and cats living on the streets. Life here harbors dangers such as hunger, violence and the weather to which the animals are exposed. Their lives are often ruled by fear, as people too often do not treat street animals with respect, scare animals away or even mistreat them. In many countries like Romania or Hungary the problem is solved with inhumane solutions like killing stations or unscrupulous animal trappers. Animal rights activists get involved on site and take animals in need from the streets or rescue them from killing stations. They provide them with food, treat illnesses, castrate the animals, adopt them or release them to safe places and then take care of them at feeding stations.

A major difficulty is that unneutered animals ensure unwanted offspring and thus increase the population. This happens because of a lack of education, poverty and a different understanding of animal husbandry. The problem of the high number of stray dogs and stray cats is man-made. Castration programs are effective. The food donations via VETO also support associations that work and proceed according to the 'trap-neuter-return' principle. Street animals are castrated and then released and cared for in safe places in their territory. Also the free neutering of animals that have a home is one of the tasks of the organizations. This humane and responsible method works because the number of street animals is reduced without creating new misery.

VETO is calling for free-ranging dogs and cats to cope with their everyday lives by donating food and raising awareness for the protection of stray animals. Their goal is that street animals can live with dignity and respect. In addition, each club receives financial support through this campaign, which can be invested in educational projects and neutering. In this way, every donation contributes to promoting animal welfare in Europe and reducing the suffering of dogs and cats in the long term. “If we don’t change anything today, tomorrow will be the same as yesterday!”, white&rszlig; Friends for Life Germany e. V., one of the nine animal protection associations that benefit from the VETO fundraising campaign. “Animals can’t speak for themselves, so we have to stand up for them.”

VETO stands for comprehensive animal protection and acts as a mouthpiece for dogs and cats in public. Educational work is essential here. You can find more about the campaign here: www.veto-tierschutz.de/stark-fuer-strassentiere.
