The pure CELLULOSE POWDER from Canina® is obtained from plant cell walls and is - like starch - a polysaccharide. Unlike starch, however, cellulose is not broken down, but acts as an intestinal cleansing fiber that is insoluble in water. Canina® CELLULOSE POWDER can be used in a variety of ways:

• For targeted weight reduction in case of obesity by replacing part of the usual feed with low-calorie fiber. This means that no superfluous calories are added and the animal still feels full.
• For intestinal cleansing, to support intestinal imbalances such as flatulence, changing stool consistency, for optimized nutrient absorption from the intestine into the blood by maintaining and protecting the intestinal villi; stimulation of natural intestinal peristalsis.
• The improved consistency of the faeces (firmer and more voluminous) optimizes the mechanical emptying of the anal glands through pressure and prevents anal sac blockages.
• Canina cellulose powder can help cats to excrete swallowed hair more easily, which counteracts the dangerous formation of hairballs in the digestive tract. Administered at the same time as PETVITAL® CATLAX-GEL from Canina®, this is an optimal combination.
• In the case of allergies, intolerances or poor acceptance of vegetables, fruit or fermented grains in BARF, Canina® CELLULOSE POWDER replaces the necessary dietary fiber for intestinal health in the ration; the fibers are tasteless and odorless, hypoallergenic and are therefore eaten without any problems.

Composition: Cellulose powder, 100 %.

Ingredients: Fat content 0%, crude fiber 80%, protein content 0%, crude ash 22%

Feeding recommendation per animal and day:
0.5 g to a maximum of 1 g per kg body weight, not more than 80 g.
The animal should be slowly accustomed to the cellulose (increase the dose up to a maximum of 1 g per kg over one to two weeks).
Dry food must be moistened; BARF or moist food has a sufficiently high water content.
If several meals are fed per day, the total daily amount of cellulose should be distributed over the individual meals.

For weight reduction, to improve the consistency of the feces (firmer, more voluminous):
Replace approx. 5 - max. 10% of the daily feed quantity with cellulose. It should be noted that reducing the daily amount of feed also reduces the necessary vital substances. If this is done for longer than 4 weeks, a vitamin-mineral supplement such as Canina® CANILETTEN should be fed to keep the metabolism in balance and to cover the animal's daily requirements.

Fresh drinking water must be available at all times to avoid constipation.
