Product description

EQUOLYT® CALCIUM CARBONATE
For strong teeth and a strong bone structure

Straight feeding stuff for horses

CALCIUM CARBONATE is also known as natural chalk or carbonated lime. CALCIUM CARBONATE is one of the most widespread compounds on earth, especially in the form of sedimentary rocks. It is found in bones and teeth and in the exoskeleton of mussels, crustaceans, corals and snails.

The mineral calcium is of comprehensive importance and indispensable for the life (for a balanced and harmonious metabolism) of the horse. It is an indispensable mineral cofactor in blood clotting, for muscle work, for skeletal development and for the formation of a strong set of teeth. Deficiencies in calcium as a central mineral in the metabolism can lead to disorders in bone development, especially during the growth phase, and result in a loss of strength and elasticity of the skeletal system.

Calcium is needed:

  • for blood clotting
  • to maintain the function of the muscles
  • for healthy, strong teeth
  • to form and maintain cartilage
  • for the development and maintenance of the skeleton

Deficits in the growth phase can lead to bone decalcification. Due to its excellent tolerability, we recommend EQUOLYT® CALCIUM CARBONATE for young animals, ageing animals and animals weakened by illness, as adult animals also need a constant supply of calcium, which is dependent on the metabolism.

CALCIUM CARBONATE is a natural source of calcium.
